This has involved working with materials as diverse as wood, leather, clay, shells and whatever we may find in the natural environment.
Many members enjoy the handling of materials, the wood preparation being very popular which includes, sanding, stripping bark and varnishing .
The pyrography classes have also been well attended with members designing patterns and then using the tools to burn their patterns into wooden objects; key rings, walking sticks, candle holders and wood burnt spatulas have all been produced.
Matthew has created a series of lily bowls in vivid colours and has been commissioned to produce more for family and friends.
He has now perfected his skills in slab building, slip ware and glazing techniques and produces work of commercial standards.
